Description

This module aims to prepare students to meet the requirements to practise as a competent and safe nurse prescriber, from the Nurse Prescribers Formulary (NPF).

The module will equip practitioners with the principles of prescribing to enable them to prescribe safely, effectively and legally. The module provides an in-depth insight into the Nurse Prescribers’ Formulary (NPF) within the British National Formulary (BNF) and an understanding of the specific risks of prescribing associated with older adults and children within their scope of practice.

The teaching and practice learning content aligns with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Competency Framework for all Prescribers (2016) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for prescribing.

Available as a standalone module: No
