KINGSTON

Introduction:

The Kingston Training Hub (formerly CEPN) has been established since November 2015, is hosted by the Kingston GP Federation (GP Chambers) and operates on behalf of Health Education England South London (HEEsL).

Training Hubs are seen as the delivery vehicle for Primary Care workforce transformation, and HEE describes them as being able to ‘provide an opportunity to meet the educational needs of the multi-disciplinary primary care team, bringing together NHS organisations, community, local authorities and education establishments.’

The core functions of the Training Hub include; education and training co-ordination, placement facilitation, delivery of workforce transformation initiatives such as testing new roles and providing development opportunities for the Primary Care workforce.

The Kingston Training Hub will ensure that the primary care workforce is trained and supported to meet the needs of our patients in the community now and in the future.

The Kingston Training Hub team consists of:

  • The Kings Centre, Coppard Gardens, Chessington, KT9 2GZ. There is free parking in the carpark and a Buffett lunch and tea, coffee and water is provided. There is a cafeteria area where other refreshments can be purchased


SUTTON

Introduction:

Sutton CEPN was fully formed in April 2018 following an introductory lead in time of about 6 months. The CEPN sits within Sutton CCG and carries out the functions required of it by Health Education England. The CEPN Lead role is a member of the primary care team within Sutton CCG.

HEE is now referring to CEPNs as ‘training hubs’ and they are seen as the delivery vehicle for primary care workforce transformation. The core functions of the CEPN include; education and training co-ordination, placement facilitation, recruitment and retention support and delivery of workforce transformation initiatives such as testing new roles.

The Sutton CEPN (training hub) will ensure that the primary care workforce is trained and supported to meet the needs of general practice in the future.

WANDSWORTH

Funded by HEE, the Wandsworth Training Hub is responsible for the co-ordination of clinical and non-clinical training for Wandsworth practices. With an overarching aim to support workforce development and transformation, primarily to increase capacity and capability within primary care. Partly through education, but also piloting new roles and innovative ways of working.

The Wandsworth Training Hub includes; Dr Judy Roberts, Clinical Lead, Melanie Ashdown, Programme Lead, Ali Epton, GPN Lead, India Peach, Project Manager, Tessa Shields, Project Officer.
