The aim of this module is to enable students to continue to demonstrate the use of appropriate and systematic methods of inquiry and skills to critically analyse, develop and evaluate current practice and /or service through the process of undertaking a project in clinical practice.

Development in practice report - A report that demonstrates the initial scoping, detailed evidence and analysis of evidence and research gathering, quality improvement process and implementation plan of change in practice.
Knowledge and Understanding:
Successful students will typically:
1. Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of and ability to critically evaluate and synthesise the theoretical and
empirical literature related to a practice area from national and international perspectives.
2. Ccritically review quality improvement frameworks and their application to practice development.
3. Propose alternative ways of defining and managing a particular practice issue with reference to primary and
secondary evidence sources.
4. Make recommendations for an evaluative process reflecting the knowledge, skills and behaviours of an
advanced clinical practitioner.

1. Design and conduct a systematic investigation into an area of practice by using appropriate and rigorous
methods.
2. Develop and implement a plan of action demonstrating appropriate change strategies, evaluation and
sustainability of the project and present a coherent and analytic report.
