Description

This classroom-based module is for anyone interested in promoting health and preventing illness. It will enable you to critically analyse this subject based on an understanding of theory and research evidence.

During the module, you will design, justify and evaluate a health promotion project based on your learning of the current health trends, the social determinants, the impact of inequalities in health and the ethical implications of delivering health promotion initiatives.

Assessment

Project proposal and poster presentation. Pass grade 40%

  • You will gain the analytical skills to evaluate health promotion initiatives.
  • Through this process, you will learn to plan and organise a health initiative at a population level for your own patient/client group.

Upon successful completion of this module as a standalone entity, credit gained could be utilised as part of the BSc (Hons) Professional Practice in Health and Social Care, this module is also part of the BSc Public Health programme
